State Rep. With Women in Government
At the 14th Annual State Directors Conference in “Women In Government congratulates Representative Barrow in her new position as a State Director. State Directors play a critical role in setting policy priorities for our organization,” said Susan Crosby, president of Women In Government. “Representative Regina Ashford Barrow is a recognized leader in her state, and we are excited that she will now share leadership skills with other women policymakers throughout the country.” “As a State Director, I am committed to fostering and creating policy that address critical issues facing women and families, such as heart disease, energy efficiency, education, and the housing crisis to name a few,” said Barrow. “The information I received from Women in Government has been very helpful and relevant to the issues facing our state. In addition, the relationships I have established with fellow women legislators have proven to be extremely valuable. It gives me great pleasure to serve and represent the State of At the 14th Annual State Directors Conference, women state legislators will hear from expert speakers on a variety of public policy topics and their impact on states. Topics to be discussed include pandemic flu preparedness, heart disease prevention in women, emerging issues in energy policy, Medicare preventive services, access to higher education, and cervical cancer prevention, among others. This meeting also provides attendees with the opportunity to network with colleagues across state borders, share best practices and experiences to advance successful public policies. State Representative Regina Barrow Sworn-in for 2nd Term during Inauguration Ceremony On Monday, January 14th, State Representative Regina Ashford Barrow was sworn-in to her 2nd term of office in the Louisiana House of Representatives. The ceremony was held at the Louisiana State Capitol in the House Chambers followed by an address from the Governor-Elect Bobby Jindal on the front steps of the state capitol. Barrow represents the 29th Legislative District which encompasses parts of East and West Baton Rouge Parishes.
