Marquinta T. Winding is the daughter of Patricia and Luther Winding. She is a 12th grade honor student at Glen Oaks High where she currently has a 4.43 GPA. She has received numerous honors for her great academic standings such as Legion of Valor, Sons of the American Revolution Award, and most recently she was named Cadet of the Year for her work in the school's JROTC. Marquinta is actively involved in her school from being a member of the Glen Oaks High School's Volleyball Team, Color Guard, BETA Club, National Honors Society, JROTC, and SGA.  She is not only active in her school, but in her community as well. She is a member of Y-Teens, her Church Choir, and participates in club volleyball playing for the Cobra Volleyball Club.

In her spare time, Marquinta enjoys playing volleyball, reading, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.  Marquinta's future plans are to graduate from Glen Oaks High School as the Class of 2008's Valedictorian. After graduation, she plans to attend Tulane University and major in Biomedical Engineering. Upon graduating from college Marquinta would like to contiune her education in Medical School and purse a career as a Cardiologist.
